Sun Haven is a fantasy farming and life sim with RPG elements by Pixel Sprout Studios: build a farm, form relationships with townsfolk, and pursue a questline involving magic, monsters and dragons.1 Crowdfunded on Kickstarter in 2020, it entered Steam early access in June 20212 and reached its full 1.0 release on 10 March 2023.1

Gameplay

Character progression runs through skill trees covering farming, combat, exploration, fishing and mining. Up to eight players can share a farm online, across three towns — Sun Haven, the elven forest Nel'Vari, and the monster city Withergate — plus the underwater Brinestone Deeps region.1

Development and release

At early-access launch the developers planned roughly six more months to finish the main questline and add new areas and a playable race;2 the 1.0 release ultimately came about 21 months in. A Nintendo Switch version launched on 29 November 2024 in Americas eShops (with other regions to follow), matching the PC 1.7.1 patch but shipping without multiplayer or PC↔Switch cross-save at launch.34

The game is supported by an unusually large catalog of cosmetic DLC on Steam — 43 items as of July 2026, from the Dreamy Pet Pack (April 2023) to the Starlight Pack (June 2024).5

Reception

Sun Haven's pitch — Stardew Valley's rhythm with dragons, magic and big co-op — made it a staple of the post-Stardew farming-sim wave alongside Fields of Mistria and Dinkum.
