Cozy Grove is a life-simulation game about camping on a haunted, ever-changing island, developed and published by Seattle-based studio Spry Fox.12 It debuted on Apple Arcade on 19 March 2021, about three weeks ahead of its console and PC release in early April 2021.3

Gameplay

As a Spirit Scout, the player wanders the island's forest each day, finds hidden secrets, and helps soothe the local ghosts; through crafting and daily attention, color and joy gradually return to Cozy Grove.1 Like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it is designed around short real-time daily sessions rather than marathon play.

Development and release

After the Apple Arcade debut, Cozy Grove was announced for 8 April 2021 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store at $14.99 (Steam's own listing shows 7 April).31

In October 2022, Netflix acquired Spry Fox, making it Netflix's sixth in-house games studio.2 A sequel, Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, launched on mobile via Netflix Games on 25 June 2024,4 and the game's official site announced Camp Spirit for PC and consoles on 15 July 2026.5

Reception

Cozy Grove found its audience among players looking for gentle daily rituals — its haunted-campsite premise wrapping themes of memory and letting go in an unmistakably cozy package.
