Fields of Mistria is a nostalgic farming and life-sim RPG by NPC Studio, set in the valley town of Mistria. Players build up a farm — farming, fishing, mining and crafting to help revitalize the community — while getting to know more than 30 villagers, pursuing romance, unlocking magic, and exploring ancient ruins.1 It launched in Steam early access on 5 August 2024.1

Gameplay

The early-access build already offers 60+ hours of play across all four seasons, more than 700 craftable items, and over 5,000 lines of unique character dialogue.2 Magic weaves through both farming and adventuring, and combat awaits in the ruins beneath the town.1

Development and release

NPC Studio self-publishes the game and prices it at $13.99, with no plans to raise the price for 1.0.2 The full 1.0 launch — announced at Summer Game Fest 2026's Wholesome Direct — is set for 5 August 2026 on PC, adding marriage and children and the conclusion of the town-restoration storyline.3

Reception

Fields of Mistria topped 100,000 downloads in its first week of early access,4 reaching the top of Steam's Top Sellers chart within its first days and holding a 98% positive rating from over 2,400 reviews a week in.5 Press shorthand for its appeal — "Stardew Valley x Sailor Moon" — captures its place in the modern cozy farming-sim boom.4
