BAFTA Games Awards 2022

At the ceremony on 7 April 2022, Unpacking won EE Game of the Year — the only award voted for by the British public — and the BAFTA for Narrative.¹²

The first-year tally

On the game's first anniversary (2 November 2022), Humble Games and Witch Beam announced it had won 20 awards and earned 50 nominations in its first year, alongside passing one million copies sold worldwide.³

Early momentum

The game sold over 100,000 copies in its first ten days — the start of the word-of-mouth run that carried it to awards season.⁴
