# In the Dark
**Lil Gator Game: In the Dark** is the "game sized" expansion to [[Lil Gator Game]], set in a massive underground world beneath the island.

## Announcement and release

The expansion was announced via Xbox Wire on 20 January 2025.[^1] It released on 12 February 2026 for Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch — alongside a digital **Gator of the Year Edition** bundling the base game with the DLC. A physical edition followed on 27 February 2026.[^2]

## Earlier updates

Before In the Dark, the game's October 2023 console launch added New Game+ and a "baby mode" that lets players replay the entire game as a younger Lil Gator,[^3] and the game joined Xbox Game Pass on 4 April 2024.[^4]
