# Version 2.0 update
Nintendo announced that the free Version 2.0 update for [[Animal Crossing: New Horizons]] would be available on 5 November 2021 — the game's largest post-launch addition.[^1]

## What Version 2.0 added

Per Nintendo's announcement, the update introduced:[^1]

- **The Roost** — Brewster's café
- **Kapp'n boat tours** to mysterious islands
- **Gyroids** to dig up and collect
- An open-air market on **Harv's Island**
- **Cooking** recipes
- **Island ordinances**

## Happy Home Paradise

The same day, Nintendo released the game's paid expansion, *Animal Crossing: New Horizons — [[Happy Home Paradise]]*, priced at $24.99.[^2]
